What are Energy Performance Certificates (EPC)?

EPCs are a visual representation (on a scale of A-G) of how energy efficient a property is and provide vital information to property owners and tenants about energy use in the buildings they own and use.

From the first of October 2008 it is now mandatory that when any commercial premises is to be offered for sale or for let there should be a Commercial EPC available to show to a prospective tenant or purchaser.

Landlords who refuse to comply with the new Energy Legislation may receive fines for not producing the required EPC when putting their property up for sale or let.

How MAC can help

MAC provides EPCs for all commercial buildings from commercial to industrial units e.g. offices, retail units factories, warehouses and provides recommendations to improve the energy efficiency of the building therefore reducing costs within the business.

We provide cost-effective methods for improving the energy performance of existing dwellings and buildings through both fabric improvements and the use of low-energy building services. In addition, we provide practical advice and assistance for those wishing to put the energy-saving measures outlined in the Advisory Report into effect.

We have made our service as efficient and user friendly as possible. By providing us with the property drawings and details requested on our online EPC data form, we provide you with your formal EPC fee proposal. All our residential and commercial EPCs utilise approved software and are carried out by competent energy assessors defined under the National Occupational Standards.
